On 9-20-24 I was honored to set up my easel and canvas on the 7th Level at Memorial Stadium to live paint the 400th Sellout. It was one of the most stressful and toughest live paintings I've ever done with the lighting changing from daylight to night. I also decided to 'go big or go home' and picked a 3'x5' canvas to make look like a stadium in less than 5 hours. Genius ha.
With all that said, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It has been a goal of mine to paint live at Memorial Stadium since I became a licensed Husker artist and started painting live at other events. It made sense to try the stadium! I was able to have my parents up in the booth with me and Johnny Rodgers and his friends stopped in and watched most of the game with us. My Dad's favorite player growing up, it was neat to see him and Johnny dissecting the game while watching and cheering together. Special memory for sure. Here are a few photos from the day. Thanks to my Mom for taking most of them!
What a day. GBR, Always
